Refined New American/French with innovative touches

Date

January 16, 2013

westbridgeInformed Diner enjoyed a comprehensive intro to 2012′s most lauded culinary newcomer, Kendall Square's West Bridge. Owners Alexis Gelburd-Kimler and Chef Matthew Gaudet treated the group to a delectable journey through their menu, stopping to detail the dishes' numerous intricacies.

Guests filled the stylish private dining room to sample the signature "egg in a jar" dish as well as an assortment of intriguing ingredients like freekeh (an ancient grain). Beverage pairings ran the gamut from a wildly complex cocktail and Prosecco (on tap!) to what was the very first beer (Brooklyn Brewery's Sorachi Ace) served at an Informed Diner event.

Lively conversation was only interrupted when the staff told tales of the building's colorful history - it once housed the Boston Woven Hose and Rubber Company, which manufactured fire hoses in the 1880s.
